A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas... Nearshore Waters from Calumet Harbor to Michigan City... Open Waters from Wilmette Harbor to Michigan City out to Mid Lake... At 1218 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 6 nm west of Hammond Marina to near Gary, moving east at 15 knots.
