A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas... Grand Marais to Taconite Harbor MN... Lake Superior west of a line from Saxon Harbor WI to Grand Portage MN beyond 5NM... Outer Apostle Islands Beyond 5 NM from Mainland... Taconite Harbor to Silver Bay Harbor MN... At 627 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. This thunderstorm was located 8 nm west of Sugar Loaf Cove, moving southeast at 30 knots.
