A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas... Breton Sound... Chandeleur Sound... Coastal Waters from Boothville LA to Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River out 20 nm... Coastal waters from Pascagoula Mississippi to Stake Island Louisiana out 20 to 60 NM... Coastal waters from Pascagoula Mississippi to Stake Island out 20 NM... At 1251 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 29 nm south of Horn Island to 8 nm south of Chandeleur Sound, moving southwest at 5 knots. Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and dangerous lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this activity passes.
