A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas... Nearshore Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Wilmette Harbor... Open Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Wilmette Harbor out to Mid Lake... At 540 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a gust front, capable of producing a northerly wind shift with gusts to around 30 knots. This gust front was located along a line extending from South Milwaukee to 15 nm north of McHenry, moving southeast at 30 knots. Several land based weather stations have recorded wind gusts up to 30 knots. Isolated thunderstorms are also occurring behind this gust front.
