At 527 PM MST, a severe thunderstorm was located near Whetstone, moving west at 10 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings....

What the bulletin says to do

Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing widespread damaging winds and large hail. Wind damage with this storm will occur before any rain or lightning. Do not wait for the sound of thunder before taking cover. Seek shelter immediately inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

At 527 PM MST, a severe thunderstorm was located near Whetstone, moving west at 10 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Sierra Vista, Whetstone, Huachuca City, Elgin, Fort Huachuca and Kartchner Caverns State Park. This includes the following highways... Route 90 between mile markers 299 and 323. Route 82 between mile markers 41 and 58.
