What the bulletin says to do

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in Pueblo. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

At 503 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near La Veta Pass, or 44 miles east of Alamosa, moving southeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... La Veta Pass, Spring Burn Scar south of Highway 160 in Costilla county, Spring Burn Scar north of Highway 160, and northwestern Spring Burn Scar south of Highway 160 in Huerfano county.
