Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

At 915 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Bridgeton to near Greenwich to Middletown, moving southeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Emergency management. IMPACT...Minor damage to vehicles is possible. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Dover, Newark, Millville, Bridgeton, Middletown, Smyrna, Salem, Laurel Lake, Alloway, Camden, Clayton, Quinton, Delaware City, Cheswold, Greenwich, Shiloh, Glasgow, Newport Meadows, Dover Speedway, and Saint Georges. This includes Interstate 95 in Delaware between mile markers 0 and 4.
