A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for central, north central and northeastern Iowa. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

At 407 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near New Hartford, or 6 miles northwest of Cedar Falls, moving southeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Waterloo, Cedar Falls, Waverly, Allison, Parkersburg, Denver, Clarksville, Tripoli, Shell Rock, Dike, Waterloo Municipal Airport, Uni-Dome And McLeod Center, Janesville, Readlyn, New Hartford, Plainfield, Stout, George Wyth State Park, Allison Municipal Airport, and Waverly Municipal Airport.
