Bulletin details

At 648 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Maxwell, or 9 miles south of Nevada, moving southeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Personal weather station reported a peak wind speed of 69 mph near Ames in Story County. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Ames, Nevada, Huxley, Iowa State Center, Cambridge, St. Anthony, and Ames Municipal Airport. This includes Interstate 35 between mile markers 103 and 118.
