What the bulletin says to do

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

At 1023 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Geneseo to near Annawan to near Elmira, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. At 953 PM, a 56 mph wind gust was measured at the Davenport Airport. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Kewanee, Cambridge, Geneseo, Colona, Galva, Atkinson, Sheffield, Annawan, Andover, Hooppole, Cleveland, Osborn, Dayton, Neponset, Osco, Yorktown, Mineral, Bishop Hill, New Bedford, and Henry County Fairgrounds. This also includes Johnson-Sauk Trail State Recreation Area and Mautino State Fish & Wildlife Area. This includes Interstate 80 in Illinois between mile markers 11 and 43.
