A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for north central Iowa. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

At 319 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Belmond Municipal Airport, or 12 miles northeast of Clarion, moving southeast at 50 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Public. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Garner, Belmond, Kanawha, Goldfield, Klemme, Thornton, Meservey, Swaledale, Goodell, Duncan, and Belmond Municipal Airport. This includes Interstate 35 between mile markers 180 and 183.
