Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. This is a DANGEROUS SITUATION. These storms are producing widespread wind damage across portions of eastern Iowa. SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

At 844 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Camp Miss-Elk-Ton to near Clinton Municipal Airport to near McCausland, moving southeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. This line of storms has a history of producing wind damage across portions of eastern Iowa including downed trees around Maquoketa. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Clinton, Fulton, Preston, Sabula, Miles, Charlotte, Andover, Spragueville, Green Island, Van Buren, Goose Lake, Bryant, Bulgers Hollow, Teeds Grove, Elvira, Reeceville, South Sabula Lake Park, and Camp Miss-Elk-Ton.
