Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside should move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from windows. To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in Sioux Falls.

At 1016 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Hills to near George to Hospers, moving northeast at 45 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Public. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. These severe storms will be near... Sheldon, Rock Rapids, George, Hospers, Ellsworth, Little Rock, Ashton, Archer, and Matlock around 1020 PM CDT. Other locations in the path of these severe thunderstorms include Luverne, Sibley, Sanborn, Adrian, Melvin and Rushmore.
