What the bulletin says to do

Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. These storms are capable of producing widespread damaging winds. Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Seek shelter immediately in an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built structure. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Bulletin details

At 1154 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from over Barkley Regional Airport to over Clinton, or along a line from 6 miles southwest of Metropolis to over Clinton, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and small hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Cairo, La Center, Bardwell, Wickliffe, Barlow, Wyatt, Lovelaceville, Barkley Regional Airport, West Paducah, Kevil, Arlington, Columbus, Wilson City and Blandville.
