Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds and large hail. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Bulletin details

At 1132 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 7 miles north of Mound City to near Bertrand, or along a line from 11 miles northwest of La Center to near Charleston, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Sikeston, Charleston, Cairo, Miner, Bertrand, Mounds, Mound City, Horseshoe Lake Conservation Area, Olive Branch and Diehlstadt.
