Prepare immediately for damaging winds and deadly cloud to ground lightning. Seek shelter inside a well-built structure. Stay away from windows.

At 1003 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Hampshire to near Maple Park to Sandwich, moving southeast at 55 mph. This line of storms has a history of producing wind damage. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... DeKalb, Belvidere, Loves Park, Sycamore, Sandwich, Mendota, Poplar Grove, Genoa, Sheridan, Shabbona, Candlewick Lake, Lake Holiday, Cortland, Cherry Valley, Hinckley, Somonauk, Kirkland, Earlville, Waterman, Capron, Maple Park, Kingston, Malta, Serena, and Leland.
