What the bulletin says to do

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in the Quad Cities.

At 920 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Sheffield, or 12 miles northeast of Kewanee, moving east at 20 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Wyanet, Sheffield, Buda, Neponset, Manlius, and Mineral. This also includes Hennepin Canal State Trail and Mautino State Fish & Wildlife Area. This includes Interstate 80 in Illinois between mile markers 37 and 52.
