What the bulletin says to do

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Northeastern Clark County in east central Illinois... * Until 500 PM CDT. * At 422 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles northeast of Kansas, or 8 miles west of Paris, moving southeast at 45 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * This severe thunderstorm will be near... Paris around 425 PM CDT. Vermilion around 440 PM CDT. This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 147 and 154.
