At 701 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Chalmette, moving south at 35 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. At 6:53pm CDT, a 68mph wind gust was reported at the New Orleans Lakefront Airport. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... New Orleans, Chalmette, Meraux, Arabi, Violet, and Terrytown. This includes Interstate 10 in Louisiana near mile marker 238.
