For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning are occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

SVRLWX The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Southwestern Garrett County in western Maryland... Grant County in eastern West Virginia... Southwestern Mineral County in eastern West Virginia... * Until 530 PM EDT. * At 456 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Oakland to near Loch Lynn Heights to 7 miles north of Thomas to 7 miles south of Rowlesburg, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by downed trees. Localized power outages are possible. Unsecured light objects may become projectiles. * Locations impacted include... Petersburg, Bayard, Gorman, Maysville, Arthur, Beechwood, Hartmansville, Emoryville, Wilson, Martin, Scherr, Seymourville, Lahmansville, Streby, Medley, Kline Gap, Wilsonia, Williamsport, Mount Pisgah, and Mount Storm.
