At 621 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles northwest of Carthage, moving northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Southern Pines, Carthage, Pinehurst, Aberdeen, Biscoe, Whispering Pines, Pinebluff, Robbins, Foxfire, and Star. This includes Interstate 73 between Mile Markers 32 and 59.
