At 139 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 4 miles northwest of Spruce Pine to 11 miles northwest of Marion to 15 miles south of Burnsville, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to trees and power lines. Locations impacted include... Marion, Spruce Pine, Black Mountain, Glen Alpine, Old Fort, B.R. Parkway-Craggy To Little Switzerland, Lake James State Park, B.R. Parkway-Little Switzerland To Linville, Table Rock, and Mount Mitchell State Park.
