Southwestern Chatham County in central North Carolina... * Until 715 PM EDT. * At 628 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Carthage, moving east at 20 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. * Locations impacted include... Sanford, Southern Pines, Carthage, Pinehurst, Whispering Pines, Broadway, Robbins, Foxfire, Taylortown, and Vass. This includes US 1 between Mile Markers 69 and 77.
