Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. These thunderstorms are capable of producing all types of severe weather including destructive straight line winds and tornadoes. Move quickly to a safe shelter such as an interior room, a bathroom, closet or basement. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 500 PM EDT for central North Carolina.

Franklin County in central North Carolina... * Until 145 PM EDT. * At 1256 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Oxford to near Garner, moving northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Raleigh, Cary, Henderson, Oxford, Creedmoor, Louisburg, Warrenton, Wake Forest, Garner, and Fuquay-Varina. This includes the following highways... Interstate 85 between Mile Markers 186 and 233. Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 286 and 309. Interstate 440 between Mile Markers 1 and 16. Interstate 540 between Mile Markers 3 and 24. US 1 between Mile Markers 98 and 101.
