At 241 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 9 miles north of Benson, or 11 miles west of Smithfield, moving east at 15 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Smithfield, Clayton, Angier, and Coats Crossroads. This includes the following highways... Interstate 95 near Mile Marker 93. Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 310 and 322.
