Northwestern Rowan County in the Piedmont of North Carolina... * Until 600 PM EDT. * At 521 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 6 miles northwest of Statesville, or 5 miles east of Stony Point, moving southeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...Golf ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind damage to trees and power lines. * Locations impacted include... Statesville, Mooresville, Troutman, Cleveland, Mount Ulla, Piedmont Research Station, Woodleaf, Scotts, Cool Springs, and Stony Point.
