Northern Yancey County in western North Carolina... * Until 600 PM EDT. * At 512 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Erwin, or near Banner Hill, moving south at 10 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to trees and power lines. * Locations impacted include... Burnsville, Bandana, Ramseytown, Poplar, Green Mountain, Swiss, Bakersville, and Micaville.
