Eastern Polk County in western North Carolina... * Until 1000 PM EDT. * At 927 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles west of Rutherfordton, moving south at 5 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to trees and power lines. * Locations impacted include... Rutherfordton, Spindale, Green Hill, Green Creek, and Forest City.
