At 530 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Hawk Springs, or 25 miles south of Torrington, moving southeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail. SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Large amounts of accumulating hail can cause slick roadways. Locations impacted include... La Grange, Hawk Springs Reservoir, Meriden Rest Area, Hawk Springs State Recreation Area, Hawk Springs, Wycross, and Hawk Springs Campground.
