At 320 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Valentine to 16 miles south of Sicangu Village to near Merritt Reservoir, moving southeast at 10 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Valentine, Highway 97 crossing the Niobrara River, and Schlagel Creek State Wildlife Management Area. This includes the following highways... Highway 20 between mile markers 187 and 198. Highway 97 between mile markers 122 and 141. Highway 83 between mile markers 213 and 222. Highway 12 near mile marker 1.
