At 511 PM CDT/411 PM MDT/, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 9 miles southeast of Valentine National Wildlife Refuge to near Brownlee to 11 miles north of Seneca, moving southeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Mesonet reported gusts of 72 to 80 mph. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Seneca, Brownlee, Valentine National Wildlife Refuge, Marsh Flat, Giant Hill, Highway 83 crossing Goose Creek, and Highway 83 crossing the North Loup River. This includes the following highways... Highway 2 between mile markers 193 and 198. Highway 97 between mile markers 82 and 88. Highway 83 between mile markers 156 and 188.
