At 803 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 8 miles northeast of Gandy to 6 miles south of Stapleton to 13 miles north of North Platte, moving southeast at 50 mph. THESE ARE DESTRUCTIVE STORMS FOR STAPLETON AND ARNOLD. HAZARD...90 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...At 800 PM CDT, a weather station recorded a 92 mph wind gust in Stapleton. IMPACT...You are in a life-threatening situation. Flying debris may be deadly to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged or destroyed. Homes and businesses will have substantial roof and window damage. Expect extensive tree damage and power outages. Locations impacted include... Stapleton, Arnold, Brady, Maxwell, Gandy, Ringgold, North Platte Airport, Keith, Logan, Cottonwood Canyon State Wildlife Management Area, Etna, Tarboz Lake, Shanklin Bluff, Hoagland, Brown Lake, and Finchville. This includes the following highways... Highway 92 between mile markers 208 and 251. Highway 97 between mile markers 19 and 26. Interstate 80 in Nebraska between mile markers 182 and 199. Highway 83 between mile markers 88 and 124.
