At 647 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 17 miles northeast of Bellview to near Melrose, moving southeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees....

What the bulletin says to do

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds and large hail. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Blowing dust associated with strong thunderstorm winds can reduce visibility below one quarter mile at times.

Bulletin details

At 647 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 17 miles northeast of Bellview to near Melrose, moving southeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Clovis, Portales, Texico, Melrose, Grady, House, Ranchvale, Cannon Air Force Base, Saint Vrain and Broadview. This includes the following highways... Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 361 and 373. Highway 60 between Mile Markers 357 and 397.
