A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for central New York...and northeastern Pennsylvania. Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. These storms are producing widespread wind damage across. SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows.

Bulletin details

At 913 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Scott to near Denton Hill State Park, moving southeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Ithaca, Elmira, Cortland, Corning, Southport, Big Flats, Horseheads, Newfield, Elmira Heights, and Cayuga Heights.
