A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for central New York. Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in Binghamton.

At 849 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Aurora to near Bradford, moving east at 40 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE... National Weather Service ASOS reported a 60 MPH wind Gust at Penn Yan. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Auburn, Hornell, Seneca Falls, Bath, Penn Yan, Romulus, Fayette, Sennett, Starkey, and Fleming.
