Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside should move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from windows. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Bulletin details

At 741 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Lebanon to 10 miles northwest of Walnut Hill to 6 miles west of Gate City to near Jonesville to near Field, moving southeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Lebanon, Gate City, Jonesville, Big Stone Gap, Pennington Gap, Weber City, Cleveland Va, Appalachia, St. Paul, and Nickelsville.
