Waters from Oregon Inlet to Cape Hatteras NC from 20 to 60 NM... * Until 515 AM EDT. * At 351 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located 32 nm south of Monitor Marine Sanctuary, moving east at 50 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to nearly 50 knots. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas.
