Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass. Wind gusts 34 knots or greater, small hail, high waves, dangerous lightning, and heavy rain are possible with these storms. Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects.

For the following areas... S of Cape Lookout NC to Surf City NC out to 20 NM... At 616 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from The Knuckle Buoy to near Ar342, moving south at 10 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater and small hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Locations impacted include... New River Inlet, Ar340, Ar330, Ar342, Bogue Inlet, The Vicinity Of Emerald Isle Bridge, Ar345, and Emerald Isle.
