Waters from Cape Lookout to Surf City NC from 20 to 60 NM... Waters from Ocracoke Inlet to Cape Lookout NC from 20 to 60 NM... * Until 600 AM EDT. * At 511 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from 46 nm southeast of Monitor Marine Sanctuary to 33 nm south of 14 Buoy, moving east at 30 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to 40 knots. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Severe thunderstorms will remain over mainly open waters.
