Waters from Ocracoke Inlet to Cape Lookout NC from 20 to 60 NM... * Until 1245 AM EDT. * At 1150 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located 34 nm east of 14 Buoy, moving northeast at 15 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to 40 knots. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * The severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.
