Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass. Wind gusts to 40 knots, small hail, high waves, dangerous lightning, and heavy rain are possible with these storms. Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor immediately. Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects.

For the following areas... Waters from Surf City NC to Little River Inlet SC from 20 to 60 NM... At 1043 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from 12 nm southeast of Wreck 33 to near Bp 25 Liberty Ship Wreck, moving east at 15 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts to 40 knots, and small hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. severe thunderstorms will be near... City Of Houston, Frying Pan Shoals Buoy, and Frying Pan Shoals Light Tower around 1050 PM EDT.
