Coastal waters from Surf City to Cape Fear NC out 20 nm... * Until 600 PM EDT. * At 455 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located over Figure Eight Island, moving east at 15 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include... Dallas Rock, Billy Murrell Reef, Topsail Boxcars, Topsail Tire Reef, Johnny Mercer Pier, Rich Inlet, Masonboro Sea Buoy, Harris Reef, and Figure Eight Island.
