Waters from Surf City NC to Little River Inlet SC from 20 to 60 NM... * Until 1230 AM EDT. * At 1137 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located over Atlantic Ledge, moving east at 10 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts to 40 knots, and small hail. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include... Gary Ennis Reef and Atlantic Ledge.
