Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass. Wind gusts 34 knots or greater, high waves, dangerous lightning, and heavy rain are possible with these storms. Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor immediately.

For the following areas... Waters from South Santee River to Edisto Beach out 60 NM... Coastal waters from Edisto Beach SC to Savannah GA out 20 NM... At 819 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line from near Charleston Nearshore Reef to 7 NM northwest of Edisto Offshore Reef, moving northeast at 15 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to 34 knots. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Locations impacted include... Charleston Sixty, Joe Shuford Reef, Lowcountry Anglers, Charleston Nearshore Reef, Kiawah Reef, Capers Reef, N. Edisto Nearshore Reef, Edisto Sixty Reef, Capers Mid Shelf, Y-73 Reef, Edisto Forty Reef, Jimmy Leland Tug and Hunting Island Reef.
