Coastal waters from Altamaha Sound to Fernandina Beach FL out 20 NM... * Until 645 PM EDT. * At 545 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located near St. Simons Island, moving southeast at 10 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include... St Simons Island Village, St Simons Sound Buoy 9, St. Simons Island, and Jekyll Island.
