Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are expected. Frequent cloud to water lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the open water stay below deck and, if possible, avoid ungrounded metal objects. Remember, lightning can strike beyond 10 miles away from a thunderstorm.

Sebastian Inlet to Jupiter Inlet 0-20 nm... * Until 345 PM EDT. * At 255 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located over Fort Pierce Inlet, moving north at 5 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts 34 knots or greater, and small hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Waterspouts can can quickly form and capsize boats, damage vessels and create locally hazardous seas. Make sure all on board are wearing life jackets. Expect wind gusts in excess of 34 knots, suddenly higher waves, lightning and heavy downpours. Make sure all on board are wearing life jackets.
