Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass. Wind gusts 34 knots or greater, small hail, high waves, dangerous lightning, and heavy rain are possible with these storms. Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor immediately. For the following areas... Coastal waters from Delray Beach to Deerfield Beach FL out 20 NM... At 235 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from 11 nm east of Delray Beach to near Highland Beach, moving northeast at 10 knots. Another area of strong thunderstorms offshore of Ocean ridge is moving Southeast around 15 knots. These strong thunderstorms should collide over the Southern Atlantic near-shore waters of Broward County during the next hour. HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts 34 knots or greater, and small hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Locations impacted include... Gulf Stream, Highland Beach, Delray Beach, and Boca Raton.
