What the bulletin says to do

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for southern Connecticut...and southeastern New York. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass. Wind gusts 34 knots or greater, high waves, lightning, and heavy rain are expected with these storms. If caught on the open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects.

SMWOKX The National Weather Service in Upton NY has issued a * Special Marine Warning for... Long Island Sound West of New Haven CT / Port Jefferson NY... * Until 445 PM EDT. * At 407 PM EDT, a gust front was located along a line extending from near Mamaroneck Harbor to Eastchester Bay to near Little Neck Bay to 6 nm west of Saddle Rock, moving northeast at 40 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * The gust front will be near... Execution Rocks, Hempstead Harbor, Saddle Rock, Little Neck Bay, Mamaroneck Harbor, and Manhasset Bay around 410 PM EDT. Captain Harbor around 415 PM EDT. Stamford Harbor around 420 PM EDT. Oyster Bay, Oyster Bay Harbor, and Long Neck Point around 425 PM EDT. Huntington Bay, Norwalk Islands, and Cold Spring Harbor around 430 PM EDT.
