Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects.

For the following areas... Chesapeake Bay from Pooles Island to Sandy Point MD... Chesapeake Bay from Sandy Point to North Beach MD... Chester River to Queenstown MD... Eastern Bay... At 504 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Mayo, moving northeast at 35 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 48 knots and large hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Boaters could easily be thrown overboard by suddenly higher wind and waves capsizing their vessel. Boats could suffer significant damage in high winds and hail. Locations impacted include... Parsons Island, Pinehurst, Chester River, Eastern Bay, Gibson Island, Bodkin Point, Greenbury Point, Love Point, Sandy Point State Park, Highland Beach, Baltimore Light, Severn River, Bloody Point Light, Matapeake, Chesapeake Bay Bridge, Thomas Point Light, Kent Narrows Bridge, Naval Academy, Shady Side, and Mayo.
