What the bulletin says to do

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for central Maryland...and the adjacent coastal waters. Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are expected. Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor immediately. Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects.

SMWLWX The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a * Special Marine Warning for... Chesapeake Bay from North Beach to Drum Point MD... Chesapeake Bay from Pooles Island to Sandy Point MD... Chesapeake Bay from Sandy Point to North Beach MD... Chester River to Queenstown MD... Choptank River to Cambridge MD and the Little Choptank River... Eastern Bay... * Until 715 PM EDT. * At 616 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located 7 nm west of Annapolis, moving east at 35 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 48 knots, waterspouts, and small hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Boaters could easily be thrown overboard by suddenly higher wind and waves capsizing their vessel. Boats could suffer significant damage in high winds. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. * Locations impacted include... Parsons Island, Chester River, Eastern Bay, Gibson Island, Greenbury Point, Miles River, Love Point, Naval Academy, Shady Side, Herring Bay, Sandy Point State Park, Highland Beach, Baltimore Light, Severn River, Bloody Point Light, Matapeake, Chesapeake Bay Bridge, Thomas Point Light, Poplar Island, and Kent Narrows Bridge.
